Welcome to my journal. I hope you enjoy your visit and come back and maybe even invite me to come and visit your innermost thoughts.
I've had a few journals before this one but I always ended up giving up on them when things got busy. In an English class last semester we kept journals where we were basically asked to ramble with the theory that practice makes perfect. I found it quite helpful to clear my mind so I hope to be able to do that here while meeting some new people and posting some of my fictional writing.
I mostly write fantasy and am trying a little bit of science fiction. I write fanfiction when I'm in a bit of a slump so that I do not get out of practice. I have a hard time finishing stories. I write a lot of short stories that revolve around clips of family life.
I'm currently a college student at a local community college pursuing a degree in court reporting. Then I hope to focus on some loftier goals such as journalism and maybe even creative writing if I am feeling particularly brave. My interests are not particularly profitable. I'm a pretty good editor - a great eye for spelling mistakes and grammar errors - though I need prompting to finish going through something and I feel a bit awkward telling someone to change content.
Living in Michigan for my entire life has bred in me a healthy love of the outdoors and I really like to get outside whenever weather permits. I like to go hiking or biking. Swimming and boating. Sledding during the winter.
I'm really interested in the way that people think and learning about the structure of religions and governments which I think really reflect the way that people think. I'm interested in other cultures, as well, and love to read other books that offer small tastes of different parts of the world. I also enjoy getting a friend from another country every once in awhile so that I can see in their posts what real life is where they are from.
